Discover the best Freeride in Valais with us!

The highest peak in Switzerland, Monte Rosa, with an altitude of 4634 metres is considered one of the best freeride destinations in the world. Due to the low humidity, low temperatures, and altitude you can access unrivalled terrain, snow quality and conditions.

The Valais Region has incredibly varied terrain; from steep peak backcountry to easy lines through the trees, from super fun pillow lines to jumping over cliffs of all size, it truly is a freeride paradise.

If it’s your first experience in the backcountry or off-piste, we also provide step-by step instruction with technical and tactical tips. Safety is always our number one priority.

If you are an experienced freerider, my friend, you are going to love this place…

Avalanche backpack with safety equipment (beacon, shovel and probe) are required and touring skis are recommended. All equipment can be rented if you do not already have it.

Backcountry Area & Facilities

We are experienced freeride guides holding UIAGM licenses and have based ourselves in the Valais region of Switzerland due to our love of the terrain here. The Valais Freeride domains boast some of the highest peaks in the Alps with mind-blowing opportunities for endless freeride skiing.

One of the things that makes this region stand out is the huge amount of ski stations, that are well connected, that gives you access to endless possibilities. All that in addition tos the high snow quality and quantity and only 1,5 hours from Geneva International airport, makes this place truly unique.

Access to fresh powder varies depending on your goals, it can be straight from the chairlift, after a short tour or after climbing steep peaks, the options are as wide as your imagination.

One of the unique things you will find here, is that even if it has been weeks since the last snowfall, you can still have untracked fresh powder days if you know where to go.

The facilities are also second to none, whether you are traveling alone or with friends or family, you will find everything you need in the town, from great restaurants and shopping to apres ski and nightlife. You will never be bored.

“My son had an awesome experience. The coaches are all extremely professional, kind, caring, and knowledgeable. Our son got excellent feedback on his skiing and how to improve and he grew hugely in confidence both on and off the piste. We were very impressed by the coaches and by the whole setup. He’s looking forward to training with them again soon. Thank you!”

Off-piste safety equipment is necessary for all our freeride skiing lessons. This consists of an avalanche transceiver, shovel and probe. We highly recommend the use of a backpack with an inflatable air bag system to be even safer. We highly recommend the use of ski touring equipment to all our freeride guests to maximize terrain access
To enjoy a freeride lesson, you need to be an advanced skier. You don't have to be an experienced off-piste skier, but you have to be comfortable on all slopes of a ski resort. Skiing off-piste will prove itself more challenging than any type of ski slope.
There are multiple ski hire shops in Saas Fee, we recommend Glacier Sport and guests having lessons with us receive a 10% discount on equipment rental.
If you have booked private lessons our instructors can meet you in a variety of locations in resort such as: Plattjen / Spielboden Gondola station. Alpin Express Gondola station. Kalbermatten - Beginner slopes (Lift ticket office). For our intermediate and advanced skiers we can also meet up on the slopes at the Morenia Restaurant. Children’s group lessons will meet at the Plattjen / Spielboden Gondola station on Monday mornings. Please confirm your meeting point with the office when booking.
Our children’s group lessons are all taught in English. Private lessons can be booked in English, German, French, Dutch and Spanish subject to availability.
We always check that all safety equipment is working perfectly. Skis, bindings, ski touring skins and boots must be checked by the guest prior to the freeride lesson.
